Ascendency - Underrated obscure DOS strategy game
I remember playing this in the old days. Very open ended space strategy game with creative non-humanoid races and a deep skill tree.
I recommend this game for anyone looking for a DOS era strategy game.
I spent ages playing this when I was a kid. I remember all the different races having their own unique music theme which kinda slapped.
4 0 ReplyYeah, the music was pretty unique and atmospheric!
2 0 ReplyThe music! I used to just let it run on my computer at night while I slept.

One of my all time favorites. There is an AI patch kicking around on the Internet that makes it more difficult.
4 0 ReplyYeah, it was an official one too, if I remember correctly.
2 0 ReplyYeah that's right. It would be nice if there was enough interest for a community to remaster the game...

Played that back in the day. I remember especially liking the ship building part, but no details other than that. Might have to give it another go. Do you know where I can get it?
2 0 ReplySome abandoneware sites can help you out.
It's also included in the eXoDOS pack.
2 0 ReplyThank you, that's awesome!

What was your favorite faction to play as? What was your most hated rival faction?
2 0 ReplyIt must have been at least 15 years since I last played it, so names have slipped my mind. I loved the lizard like creatures from the main menu, and I hated the ultra aggressive lava dudes
3 0 ReplyCool. Yes, the lizards who could instantly research. The Shiva (robot species) were super aggressive. Also the research stealers.
