Hey guys, as a former redditor I'm enjoying my time here on lemmy, so let's have a chat! As a megaten fan, I was quite excited for the porting of Etrian Odissey HD trilogy, and I'm really enjoying it thus far.
I've started from the first entry — I know it's aged like milk by today standards, but I find it quite charming, and those 2d arts are lit.
What other titles by Atlus are you playing or have played?
it's fantastic. i'd highly recommend second opinion if you've access to a wii or you can figure out a good way to emulate the controls with kbm (which is what i did)
alternatively, you can't go wrong with the ds version. it's a damn good game either way
have played tokyo mirage sessions if that counts, SMT 3 re-release, SMT V, catherine full body and persona 5 royal and strikers. Have persona 4 golden downloaded but not touched it yet. Waiting for tactica, 3 reload and metaphor. Hoping for a port of IV and advance, strange journey and radiant historia
I played all of EO besides the Japan-only spinoff and the HD trilogy.
Also played a fan translation of Nora and the Time Studio, which I heard was made by the EO team and is a Atelier Ryza-like game (haven't played) Though it has little gameplay comparison, besides being, kind of hard later on in the combat sections. And the game has a time limit too, so, I feel like I only beat half the game's combat side by the time the ending rolled around - I spent most of the time crafting and doing requests. It was a nice experience though, I just accepted that you probably aren't meant to explore and beat everything (though I WAS hoping for a post-game...)
Oh yeah, Catherine Classic was great too. It gets less fanservicy quickly, despite the marketing, and is hilarious too. I liked the final stage Chopin remix.
Need to play Trauma Center eventually.
(Also played Stella Glow but that's just published by Atlus USA, starts like generic anime trash but gets alright later. Riviera the Promised Land is weird but fun)
