I am SO torn on this issue. ._. I really understand wanting to be safe, wanting to live somewhere you don't fear violence just for simply existing... but it also feels like a retreat somehow? Like, "letting the bad guys win"? But I guess it's easy enough for me to say "you need to stand and fight!" if I'm not the one facing existential threats in my day-to-day...
