There are commercial displays that don't have any of the bullshit. But you'll have to jump through some extra hoops for the sound.

3 0 ReplyBut if your display has no digital output, you may need to plug it into the analog output of the computer you're using to drive the display. That's not optimal.
3 0 ReplyNo, I just plug the video input into my AV-Receiver and let it split it up, and then an HDMI cable from the receiver to the TVs input
