Yes, especially since we can subscribe to other communities. A lot of the ones I used to browse on reddit came over so it's an easy switch (except for my local city sub)
I basically only used Reddit for Monero the last 3 or 4 years, so if this takes off I really never need to use that shite again. It seems to be doing great so far.
Reddit has really gone downhill over time, and seems nearly fully controlled and compromised at this point. I'm very happy that decentralized alternatives are emerging and finally gaining users and momentum. I couldn't be more pleased to see some of the impact and control transferring back in the hands of smaller communities and individual users.
I might be biased but yeah, I feel the same way x)
In case anyone here is using a RSS reader even more frequently than they visit this site, you can add communities and even your inbox to your feed reader! Very comfortable to stay up-to-date that way.
Me too. I have left Reddit for good and don't look back. I like Lemmy and it's growing fast. It is also in line with the philosophy of Monero (which Reddit directly contradicts).
If this is sustainable, this platform should have gone mainstream years ago. mb is my hero and I'm first in line when she starts taking apprenticeships
