Just finished building the Hespar and slapped a build from Overframe on it...
I didn't use to have a favorite melee weapon beyond what looked nicest strapped to my hip. I didn't really use melee much. Hespar w Galeforce Down is now my favorite. Love the wide swings and quick forward advance letting me carve through hordes with minimal effort.
Might just have to put together a loadout using all my favorite things now since there's enough to fill all slots.
Just goes to show there’s no accounting for taste aside from making a system like Warframe where people can radically mod things to their own.
By which I mean I hated every second I spent farming this void-awful weapon, and never touched it again (or WILL touch it again) after the moment I ranked it to 30.
The stance is SLOOOOOWWW. The movement set is AWFUL. The combination made me feel like Star Wars Kid levels of awkward in missions. And it isn’t even all that good for doing damage.
The single worst payoff in performance for any farm ever for me—and I have EVERY weapon, frame and Archwing. Only lacking all the k-drives. Because screw k-drives.
Yeah, I feel that. Plenty of weapons I've sold the moment they hit 30 'cause I didn't want to so much as look at them anymore. Most daggers give me that feeling... at least in substantial part because I really don't like to do stealth in Warframe.
I'm still collecting things but I think I've got every melee weapon except for the other Heavy Scythe and a large number of primed melee weapons. There's probably a program somewhere that'd help me track what I should be collecting to fill in those last few MR to 30+.
It didn't land well when it released, but a weapon with massive 360 degree sweeps is already really interesting. I recommend trying Kullervo's Wrathful Advance with it so you can place those giant heavy attacks.
So I got Hespar this week on Archimedea, and I heard that Melee Afflictions works on any heavies with forced knockdowns. Normally the Hespar only provides a 2x slash modifier, but Afflictions adds an extra 6 stacks and pushes that to a 14x multiplier. It's pretty juicy!
I have dozens of hours doing the missions for the drops often to 2 or 3 C Rotations. I haven't gotten the parts yet. Just staring at the sad Hespar BP sitting in my foundry.
