Reddit was created in Somerville

Davis Square, I believe. It's crazy to see what it has become. I've been an active follower of r/Boston, r/Somerville and more recent r/Massachusetts for 10 years or more. I hope no matter what happens, we find a place to engage in discussion online as a community.

First time I ever visited the state was to meet friends who lived in East Somerville. I drove across many states to visit them there (I was very young at the time so driving long distances was the norm).

A few years later I found a job in MA and started to call Massachusetts home. I lived in Arlington for 2 years, moved to Brighton for 2 years before moving to East Somerville... My MA epicenter... For the following 5 years. I eagerly followed GLX news (archboston forum, town meetings etc), waiting for the day to ride from East Somerville to back bay in a single seat. The pandemic happened, our job situations changed and we ended up moving away from the city before I got to see my dream of GLX become a reality.

Now, I live in the "sticks" out past 495 and I'm enjoying the trees, or as I call them BFTs (big fucking trees).

Lots of deer, rabbits, opossums, you name it, to make every day a little bit interesting.

Thats my quick n dirty summary. Glad you are all here. Thanks to anyone who read to the bottom. Cheers!
