Much love to @[email protected] for facilitating a great match thread; see y'all in Saturday's match thread (and hopefully sooner 😉)
5 0 ReplySounder at Heart's projected lineup:
Thoughts? Expecting a rotation-heavy starting XI with Dallas ahead on the weekend? Or will Schmetzer try to run it back?
5 0 ReplyI think I... like SaH's lineup better than the actual lineup???

I don’t know how that’s not a handball.
4 0 ReplyBut who even knows what a handball is anymore.
5 0 ReplyYeah, garbage no call. See my earlier comment about what this ref looks like.

Look, I'm just saying, if you're a Seattle soccer fan, and you wanna talk about a team that won tonight, it's not the Sounders or the USMNT you're talking about, it's [email protected]
4 0 Reply9-1-1 with a +25 goal difference, baby!
4 0 Reply
Chu hat trick incoming.
4 0 ReplyMay your predictions come true!
3 0 Reply
Oh no. I’ve had enough of penalty kicks today.
4 0 ReplyWe were going to win 3-1 anyway

Seattle Sounders
Win
Win
Win?
4 0 ReplyWin, win, win!
3 0 Reply
What on earth is that yellow card for?
4 0 ReplyLol Costigan said that miss "could have delayed a few flights, that's how bad it was "
4 0 ReplyThat line got a chuckle out of me.
3 0 Reply
I know much has been made of this already, but Leo's defensive work has been so much improved this year. That was some great tracking back right there
4 0 ReplyWhat is that yellow for Chu? Is there some kind of quota that needs to be met tonight?
3 0 ReplyMy guess would be dissent

Well, everyone, that was indeed a match that happened. Thanks for joining and hopefully better results to come on Saturday. I'll make a thread but will be at the match as many of you may also be?
3 0 ReplyI’m back! Haven’t been able to participate in these threads the past couple matches. App wasn’t working right, and I finally fixed it.
3 0 ReplyThey need to bring the zamboni out. Looks a bit slippery out there
3 0 ReplyHow are we all watching tonight? Me: probably on a phone for the first half while putting the kid to bed, then at home on the couch.
3 0 ReplyCouch. Thought about heading to Fuel for the ECS watch party but then USMNT went to extra time and I won't make it before kickoff.
3 0 ReplyLaptop again, still not finished painting the TV room 😣
2 0 Reply
Brave defending by Baker again. Continues to impress.
3 0 ReplyI wish he was more offensive like Alex. Whenever he gets the ball he seems to pass it backwards.
2 0 ReplyYou know he’s a youngin because he doesn’t hesitate to just sacrifice his body.
1 0 Reply
Well shit
3 0 ReplyYeah... Not a great start. Let's see if they can battle back again.
2 0 ReplyThe Yeimar giveth and the Yeimar taketh away
2 0 Reply
That’s a harsh yellow.
3 0 ReplyThis ref looks like somebody who would get called to VAR on an obvious error and stand with his decision
2 0 Reply
Baker has a decent long throw, at least distance wise.
3 0 ReplySuper harsh hand ball
3 0 ReplyI love the USMNT, Sounders double header.
Too bad US got knocked out. Though, I’m glad we’ll get Jordan and Alex back soon.
3 0 ReplyHeber and Nico just not on the same page at the moment.
3 0 ReplyBaker off, A. Roldán on at half
3 0 ReplyI thought this was a joke, but my man really just went from the US match to this. That’s hilarious.
Wait - do I have my Roldan’s mixed up?
2 0 ReplyCR was in San Diego; AR with the sounders in San Jose

Stats at the half (FotMob):
3 0 ReplyFoooooock
3 0 ReplyWelp. Not much to do about that one.
3 0 ReplyUSMNT - Panama coming down to the wire... 1-1 entering 2nd extra time period. Roldan took a knock to the head. Hope he's ok after that long concussion rehab. JMo with the assist on Ferreira's tying goal on a beautifully directed header from a long ball.
2 0 ReplyJordan makes, Cristian misses for USMNT... Feel bad for Cristian as that knocks the USA out. I hope he can turn off the social media mentions for a while as this is really going to rev up the trolls.
2 0 ReplyAt least Ferreira missed too, hopefully that mitigates the hate

Who are the announcers for this match? Keith Costigan and who else? I've actually enjoyed the commentary. It's nice to have announcers who talk about what's happening on the pitch and provide some tactical insight instead of blathering on about Messi or other random topics.
2 0 ReplyWarren Barton, if I'm not mistaken
3 0 ReplyAgreed, decent chemistry between the two. You can tell Costigan doesn't despise him like he does Twellman
1 0 Reply
Did the announcer just say we’d have Morris and Roldán back for this Saturday?
2 0 ReplyHe said maybe - I guess it could happen? They just played in San Diego, and the rest of the team is playing in San Jose. Not too much of a difference recovery or travel-wise.
3 0 ReplyI suppose you’re right. Funny coincidence that they are all in SoCal right now.
1 0 Reply
One of these days a pass to Héber will work.
2 0 ReplyI see a Nelson Valdez situation coming on. Snakebit all year in front of goal, then bang em in during the playoffs.
3 0 ReplyAs a card-carrying Heber skeptic, I would love for this to be the case.
1 0 Reply
Huh. Maybe we can grab a cheap pen here?
2 0 ReplyWhat a tackle from Obed at the top of the box!
2 0 ReplyThat was slick by Héber. He pulled three defenders away from the center, too bad we didn’t make anything of that.
2 0 ReplyOh, it’s that guy with the concussion ward around his neck.
2 0 ReplyEbobisie? What is that thing? Looks like a sharper image personal neck AC thing.
3 0 ReplyThey're supposed to adjust blood pressure to the brain to prevent concussions... or some shit like that
1 0 ReplyI don’t actually know. I’ve only hear that it is allegedly something that allegedly helps prevent concussions. One of those weird alternative medicine things I guess.
1 0 Reply
Gotta keep it close here and see if we can toss on Raul and Alex in the second half to make a difference . Maybe around 60'?
2 0 ReplyLemme tell you, if I'd gotten kicked in the face like that when I was 18, I would not have reacted nearly as calmly as Reed Baker-Whiting did just now.
2 0 ReplyAlso, how is that not at least a yellow card. The 5' 11" RBW has a cut over the top of his eye. Seems like a high boot by definition
3 0 ReplyExactly! I get that it wasn't malicious, but it seems definitionally reckless.
2 0 Reply
That’s probably the match.
2 0 ReplyLodeiro rightfully upset about that. He made a perfect setup and Héber was just no where to be found.
2 0 ReplyNo Obed...that doesn't look good
2 0 ReplyHe looks to be moving ok, thank goodness
3 0 Reply
Let's go!
2 0 ReplyWhew... Close one but looks offside.
2 0 ReplyGreat defensive work by baker.
1 0 ReplyAnd right before the triple sub was about to happen. Atencio, Teves, Ruidíaz on. JP, Nico, Heber off.
1 0 ReplyWhat was a Leo YC for?
1 0 ReplyAnybody got some leftover set piece magic from last week to lend the boys?
1 0 Reply1 0 ReplyThanks - couldn't get it to post via liftoff for some reason. If you can get the SJ one, post it too?

Little pinball to start this match
1 0 ReplyPoor Baker 😥
