Maybe, like, I dunno, affordable, community owned-and-managed housing, where living costs aren't determined by what color Corvette the landlord wants this year, would be a good start.
That’s not a mask off moment. I have no interest in living in the projects. I’d rather rent a nice house in a nice neighborhood.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that. The free market does a terrible job at providing housing. You must have just been lucky with your landlords before. The fact that this thread exists demonstrating how crazy high housing is shows that the free market isn't great for providing housing.
Never had any issues. I just paid the rent and was left alone. Typically used rentals when I moved to a new area until I bought. If I didn’t plan to stay, I rented until I moved.
The last thing I want is the government in the rental market.
