The problem first arose when I tried to download 2 new games. My steam deck would never stay connected for more than a few minutes, if even. Nothing would install or update. I was house sitting using the house’s wifi, so I assumed that the wifi just sucked there and that mine would work. So I get home and try to get everything installed. Once again, the internet constantly cuts out and my deck can’t connect to Steam servers. Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever used a network that was actually consistent for staying connected. I figured I’d try to think of things to troubleshoot so it could have an easier time updating. I look for system updates, I restart my system, I make sure the vents aren’t in a spot where it’d overheat, and finally I decide a Steam Decky plugin that lets me clear drive space or unnecessary shaders… and I notice it’s just gone. I’ve only used plugins once, so I thought maybe I was just imagining things. Then I look it up and see that there should definitely be a plug-in icon in the battery and performance menu. So I go to desktop mode. Maybe I’ll try to see how to re-install Steam Decky or update it. I go the store. It doesn’t load after about 7 minutes. So I decide to go back to gaming mode. It’s been stuck in between the modes saying “Checking for available updates…” for about 5 minutes. So everything is just broken I guess? My deck isn’t loading anything, can’t connect to any network, doesn’t have plugins, and is stuck on a screen. Help.
Edit: After about 3 more minutes, the Steam Deck is back on gaming mode. So that’s good I guess. But now it’s stuck logging into Steam. I’m sure it’ll load eventually, but I really don’t get why nothing is working smoothly.
mommyjihyo: currently cant use the internet on mine. it connects to the wifi network but shows no internet. checked on my phone by turning my data off and my wifi definitely works fine. idk what the problem is i just wanted to play some dbd :/
Majestic_Ad8621: I’m also running into issues with WiFi on my deck. I tried switching connections and now it’s saying my password is incorrect and won’t even attempt to connect. Definitely a steam server issue or something

ABeardedPartridge: I'm pretty sure Steam is having an outage. I got here because I'm on PC and Steam won't connect at all. Also there's this https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/steam
