Just adding that the sysadmin team is now advising it is okay to go to the site and download fic for reading if you can access it. You may intermittently get an error message while they're working on things.
So as an update: The Sysadmin team at #AO3 has indicated that it's okay to go to the site if it's up for you! They're encouraging folks to download fics for reading offline. However, at this time, you may get error messages. This is probably a good time to share your other favorite fic-site alternatives!
