Is this actually cyberpunk? I had watched the trailer back when it came out and thought it was just ninjas in modern day Tokyo. If it actually takes place future Tokyo then I might have to check it out. I'd love to have a new cyberpunk anime to watch.
I watched the first episode and it looked like it might be. I think im on episode 6 now. It doesnt specify that its set in the future (we are kind of there now when you consider some older cyberpunk), a secret ninja society have teamed up with a tech conglomerate and are basically in charge of everything, its corrupt and dystopian. Theres hacking, mech suits, cybernetic augmentation, a futuristic city inside a dome, and the ninja theme adds an older aesthetic like youd get in the older cyberbunk media. And its adult swim which is normally a win.
