Did Steve Borthwick produce his best win as England coach? Can Italy now avoid the Wooden Spoon? Is Le Garrec what France were missing?
Two shocks and a cracking game, where was this round 2 or 3?
Scotland miles off the boil 2nd halves all tournament, Italy targetted this fixture, as well they should have. England proving to be learning and continue building, Ireland clearly under-prepped, an eye on Dublin next week instead? And which France will turn up? A good team no matter what.
Can't see Scotland going to Dublin and coming away with points. Le Crunch promises to be great too, with a jockey for 2nd on the line. And that spoon battle is so tasty already, mmmm
3 cracking games which really kept people guessing for 230 minutes.
Where was it round 2 or 3? Still in the oven I think. Italy have been growing in confidence through the competition. It was so very close against France.
England have been searching for form too with a number in the camp injured. Then Ireland committed to an unbalenced substitution strategy and were very unlucky that they had two early injury replacements they had to make leaving them playing people out of position for ⅔ of the game. Unfortunate, but a tactical mistake.
As for Wales V France I think what we saw yesterday was two mediocre sides give each other the space to get break after break. Makes for a great spectacle, but really shows that neither side was able to shut the other down.
I don't expect upsets next week, with Wales / Italy being the only one to ponder IMHO. Italy have shown to be operating around the level of France and Scotland. I see no reason the shouldn't walk away with a win over Wales just like they did.
