Listening to field recordings containing percussion jams from my Januar trip to La Reunión/Mauritius.
It's marvelous to drastically limit the frequency response of the original recordings - and then add a slap-back delay, noticably louder than the original and with even more narrow frequency response.
This focusses everything into one. And it lends the quality of an intense & sparkling memory, rather than just appearing to be a full frequency natural #recording. The almost always massive ocean waves in the background are a lovely detail. Beautiful.

So that's that. Now pondering a strategy to recompose all this into a work of its own.
(The usual surgical digital tools are crying "use me!" into my ears, but that seems all too worn out. Got to be more haptic)

Drumsticks, found pieces of wood and coral and a field recorder, on lava at the beach in Mauritius.

  • @jrp Das gefällt mir sehr. Ist selbst am Smartphonelautsprecher wunderschön zu hören. Danke.

    • @ɟloʍ Danke für die Blumen, Wolf :-) Wir sollten bei mildem Wetter mal wieder im Biergarten aufschlagen - und unsere Damen mitnehmen.
