Evening Jam 11 - First Jam with the Exquis - Ambient - Circuit Tracks, Roland S1, Exquis,Zebralette3 - YouTube
This was a really fun setup. I just recently got the Intuitive Instruments Exquis and this is my first real Jam with it. The expressiveness of the Exquis combined with the nice flow working with the Circuit tracks made this setup very fun to work with
I have not really tried it mutch with daw yet. (Since the app is very fun and a pretty nice vst host for just playing)
My main daw is Reason and it doesn't have MPE support, and I'd say you will need mpe support in the daw to get maximum utility.
Other then that, the buttons and encoders all send cc, but for now they are locked at pre selected cc# so you would need to be able to set up your daw to respond to those cc values.
Other then that there is no specific daw integration. (Different pad functions etc.)
That being said the whole thing responds to midi signals for lighting up the pads etc So once those things get documented, it should be possible for community members to expand on it's function.
For now it's definitely early days, with lots of room for improvement. But it's good enough to be useful, at least for me.
MPE is cool but it's not primarily what interests me in this device. The size, transport, endless rotaries and the scaling/key function looks really good.
I've written a Lua codec and remotemap for the Traktor Kontrol F1 to use with Redrum. I think I could figure out the codec for this device but especially the lighting is gonna be a challenge.
I wonder if Bitwig integration would be something to look out for.
But if the app is usable as a vst and I can use it to play notes from other vst's (by linking gates or whatever) it'll essentially do all I need it to.
