Okay, this isn't actually today, but I forgot to post on Thursday, which is when I actually wore this stuff. :)
After trying a bunch of samples from Willow Tree Minerals (they have a web site but so far I've been buying from their Etsy shop), I recently got full sizes of several products. I've always loved the idea of mineral foundation, especially on days I don't want to spend a lot of time on makeup, but I always had a really hard time finding something that worked for my dry skin. Willow Tree's satin formula works beautifully for me, and the shop owner custom-blended a foundation shade for me.
So, I wore the Willow Tree satin foundation, Apple Spice blush, Shell eyeshadow, and Pouting Plum lip shimmer. Also Fyrinnae loose shadow in Faust. I really can't rave enough about the satin foundation formula. It evens out my skin but doesn't look powdery/cakey, and doesn't turn my skin into a big puddle of grease (which happens with powders that are too drying/oil-absorbent for me).
Today I wanted something sweet, so it's a luper from BPAL. Step On Me is hazelnut, honeyed fig, and molasses candy. This one is sweet without being heavy. The fig is definitely the forefront. I really like the simplicity of this one. You really get all of the notes.
I've been LOVING the Black Moon Cosmetics Orb of Light palette! It's a daily driver for me! Super soft and blendable eyeshadow that lasts forever on me (hooded eyes).
On my lips I'm wearing Lime Crime's liquid lip in "Cashmere". Don't come for me, I bought it before I knew about the brands controversy! It's a shame that I'll never be able to replace it once I run out, because it's a pretty bomb ass nude for my skintone.
If it helps, the creator of Lime Crime (that had all of the controversy) stepped down a couple years ago and no longer profits/has anything to do with the brand. Totally understandable if you don't want to support the brand still. But for me it's less of an issue now that the main culprit is removed from the situation. I love the Velvetine lip formula, it's my favorite liquid lipstick.
Today I'm trying out one of my new SugarMilk Co scents from their recent sale. It's Cherry Vanilla Cola. This one is pretty straight forward (as with pretty much all SugarMilk Co). It's a nice summery scent in my book, sweet but not heavy. The cherry isn't cough-syrupy which I tend to have an issue with. So I'm happy! (7/9)
