BBC News - Steve Wright: Radio 2 presenter dies aged 69
The DJ hosted programmes on the BBC for more than four decades, including his popular afternoon show.
DJ Steve Wright, who presented programmes for BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 for more than four decades, has died at the age of 69.
As a not quite teenager I listened to his afternoon show religiously in the early 80s. Got myself an FM tuner for my HiFi a few months ago and had been listening to his pick of the pops on and off this year - he was definitely a radio DJ of a bygone age, but it was somewhat nostalgic hearing his voice again. Tragic to have gone seemingly so suddenly.
Wrighty had been part of my daily routine for so many years, I'm shocked! I can't believe he's gone.
