The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a stern warning against the consumption of over-the-counter supplements containing the antidepressant tianeptine, citing severe risks such as seizures, loss of consciousness, and even death. These supplements, notably Neptune’s Fix brand products, have been distributed through gas stations, smoke shops, convenience stores, and illicit online channels. The FDA, in a recent statement, highlighted the presence of tianeptine, colloquially termed “gas station heroin” and marketed under names like Coaxil, Stablon, and Tatinol in these products.
