I never knew there was an embargo (or whatever you'd call it) on American musical instruments in Britain after the war.

Interesting tidbit that the band may have intended to buy ES-175s instead of the J 160Es they ordered in '62.

The ES 175 seem like a much better fit for them than the acoustic electric J160s
