Elliotte Friedman has released his latest podcast and many Detroit Red Wings fans are going to be very excited about his update on Alex DeBrincat.
The wings still have 9m in cap space, so it could happen. It would be the first sign this off-season that they are actually trying to get better.
This is true, but we have to remember the Seider and Raymond extensions will be coming soon. That being said, I still think we should go for it, Steve will get a number that works for Cat and us.
Yes but also consider the cap is going up by at least 4 million next year and we just terminated Zadina's contract. We need the goals BAD and every other team (Vegas and Toronto specifically come to mind) just end up finding a way to circumvent the cap. Stevie should be moving mountains to bring him in.
I'd love to see Yzerman get it done, but in a way that makes sense. DeBrincat wants a long term -- we can't handcuff ourselves for 7 or 8 years with a contract that doesn't make sense.
