Yeah gravel trap is always the solution. It isn't dangerous like a wall if you spin in a high speed corner, and it magically reduces the amount of over the line incidents.. Edit: and in hindsight if gravel would ruin other categories driving there, one could add a special rule about extra harsh time penalties on that specific corner (corner 10) or something, lol.
That's a non-starter if you want to host motorcycle racing at that track.
Personally I welcome the new track limits rules, you step out of line you pay for it.
These are the best drivers in the world, surely they have enough control to make sure they don't get a penalty.
Some of them managed, others not so much.
And I think it's also not considered safe enough to retrofit gravel traps into places where there are safer solutions (like tarmac run-off)
There are dangers of cars digging in and flipping if I recall.
