I was about 8 years old then and I was probably more interested in Nintendo at the time. No idea what was going on outside that bubble.
I was old enough to be aware of the outside world (21), but didn't know much about China. The pictures and video of the tianenmen square massacre were a shocking revelation to how cruel the world could be.
- They didn't censor the nightly news back then like they do now. Parents told you to not watch or get out of the room.
