Yeah, it's the same with the Kanto-Johto rivalry. People from regions that don't have these rivalries just don't get it.

Like Hoenn and Aloha. Maybe we should help them set up a rivalry with each other.
I don’t really keep up to date, as a Sinnoh citizen, I’m unsure who we are rivals with, though people around town do seem to be recently joking about Johto.
Sinnoh's rivalries from my knowledge tend to be domestic, based around what gods each may worship. Particularly Dialga vs Palkia worshipers.
I would be fine with it.
