What is the best way to install Lemmy apps?
What is the best way to install Lemmy apps?
With all the Lemmy apps (especially Jerboa) on the way, I was wondering what the best installation method is to get the latest updates regularly (I'm on Android).
- Play Store, if available?
- Pulling the apks from GitHub (too much effort for me, actually).
- F-Droid or some other repo?
I'm not very familiar with the subject, would appreciate any pointers.

The way you prefer? Playstore or fdroid if you want convenient updates I guess.
To be more precise - where can I expect to get the latest updates the fastest? Is F-Droid pulling updates from GitHub? Or has the developer of the app to upload bis latest releases to these App stores manually?
I doubt the play store is pulling from git, as for F-droid I don't know but it's currently on the same stable release as play store. Jerboa seem to be doing mostly alpha releases though so if you want those I guess get them from git.
I usually prefer F-Droid releases over Play Store releases. As for which has the fastest updates, depends on which store processes the latest release earlier. F-droid can directly pull code from the Git repository and build it from source. And from the F-Droid version description for Jerboa, it is built from source by F-Droid.
