I was fully willing to join the discord until it asked me for my birthdate. It might sound a bit odd but I'm a fairly private person and it was a drop the mike moment for me. I mean, I know I can lie but it's the principal of the thing. I shouldn't have to give my birthdate in order to talk to people. Yes, I know, I'm just a bit old fashioned in some ways.
Its like when that antiwork og mod went on fox news to speak for a sub that originally meant "i dont want to work" and evolved to be "there are problems with our capitalist, workaholic society in which workers are heavily exploited". She just had absolutely no clue what the community was about anymore and embodied the stereotypical neckbeard internet loser
Can you tell from the Discord how many mods are actually involved? I was looking at them earlier, I think there are only two active, most of the mods did not have any recent Reddit history. I'm getting Wizard of Oz vibes, I thought there was a large group.
Interesting. I think it was 8 listed on the sub. Presumably the others drifted off and can't be removed because they are at the top of the list. It would be more fun to come up with conspiracy theories though.
