I had a plumber come out one time to work on my shower. While he was there he told me my hot water heater was old and needed to be replaced soon. An hour after he left, it started leaking. He swore he only looked at the date and didn't touch anything. Needless to say I called a different plumber to come and replace it.
I'd have been hard pressed to pay that guy...
Me too, but they are made of glass. I had one that was still in warranty and tried checking the anode. The anode wouldn't budge, but a few hours later the thing started leaking from up there. Luckily, they honored the warranty and I now have a water heater that is only one year old, and not 5.
