I think the point is not to make users money but to financially damage the corporation so they are more careful about ensuring it doesn't happen again, as are other companies in the same industry.
Why do I feel like $95 million is really pocket change to them?
Edit: That's right. Their net income was 1000x that number last year according to a quick search.
It is but it also probably didn't make them any money so no company is going to scoff at a $95M loss.
