I'm struggling to think of a driver who has absolutely collapsed like Checo in the same season. He is straight up not having a good time.
Danny Ric in the McLaren was pretty hard to watch
But other than the first quali, he was pretty awful all season wasn't he? He wasn't winning and pushing for championship lead then turning into an disaster. It was hard to watch though.
Yeah, it was more the expectation that he'd be up with Lando on pace and Renault was just a blip
He was never a top driver. The car was further ahead of the rest at the start of the season and he had some luck during the races, but anyone who ever thought he was going to be challenging for the title was kidding themselves.
