Metrolinx CEO Phil Verster said Monday that the line was still edging its way to completion as the transit agency works through a list of ongoing teething issues.
All we know is that the Eglinton LRT will not open for another three months, every day that Metrolinx does not give a defined opening date.
Between line 3 just closing abruptly due to lack of maintenance, the Ontario Science Center closing abruptly due to lack of maintenance, Amsterdam Bridge along the waterfront closing due to lack of maintenance. I would not be supprised if Humber Bay Pedestrian Bridge is the next to go, its not been maintained in ages and looks close to end of life.
I think i see a pattern forming in Ontario in general. Ellington won't open anytime soon but most stations already look like they are lacking some maintenance as well.
If there's one thing this Province and City excel at it's putting off maintenance for future generations. You just listed a handful of examples but there are so many more. Trees in parks is another one, Garbage cans that need to be redesigned/replaced every few years due to lack of maintenance. There's a ton more.
