Protesters calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war, gathered at the World Trade Center site Thursday with some shouting "Allahu akbar," a phrase known to be recited by terrorists during attacks.
It means God is great. It is a pretty mundane term. It is also used where Americans might say oh shit or something similar.
There was a pilot who crashed and the cockpit recorder recorded him saying Allah Akbar many times. The Arabs said that is common in situations of stress. As such, it is something to be freaked about when someone says it.
Dont be obtuse. Theyre declaring themselves Islamic at the site of the worst Islamic terrorist attack ever on American soil. A lot of people remember those attacks. A lot of people lost friends and family in those attacks.
This is not some quirky "oh look at the different culture, isnt it so neat?" this shit is nasty.
It literally just means god is great (or something similar). It’s like when people who stormed the capitol on Jan 7 were chanting “USA USA USA”. Is “USA” a war cry for treason and insurrection?
