I have been on reddit for just about 12 years now. Something I've noticed over time is just how hateful the place has become. A complete outrage machine. Every single sub became filled with it. I've filtered so many subreddits over the last few years, it's insane. I don't know enough about this place to be sure, but I do hope it doesn't become the same type of echo chamber of anger.
Since 2015-16 hostile anti-democratic governments: Russia, China, Iran, to name a few and their allied western chaos operatives: Rogan, Musk, Peterson, Trump, Stone, to name a few, have been disseminating conspiracy theories, propaganda and disinformation designed to harm and divide humanity. It has worked. This has been going on for a long while, but 2015 is when things really got rolling. We can change this trend if the will is there.
Name a normal non-chaos actor who has terrorized a world renowned vaccine scientist at their home in the name of "owning the Libs?" Rogan is actually worse than a chaos operative -- he's a domestic terrorist.
I think it's a bit unfair to throw everyone in a list with Trump. Rogan is not too bright, Musk has totally disconnected from reality, Peterson, I really liked Peterson, but this new, angry and narcissistic personality is irritating. I don't know who Stone is. But none of them is a total caricature of a well behaving human. Trump is the embodiment of every negative american stereotype: dumb, narcissistic, loud and obnoxious, without any merit or moral. Still, half of the USA elected this moron, because no one else was talking to them, or took their concerns seriously. The left and the right radicalized each other. The left have to start with getting of from the moral high ground, and start talking at least with the center, and as a reaction the right hopefully will disengage from their more extremely bigoted ideas. If the left keep up their echo chamber, and make everyone an enemy who has a different view on some things, there's gonna be a civil war. And this time one side has more guns, and nothing to lose.
A couple of things I disagree with here. All those mentioned absolutely belong in the same category as trump. Really only about 30% of eligible voters elected trump (we really need to work on voter turnout). What the wackos on the right call the radical left is so center it's painful. 80s republicans are about the equivalent of what the Dems are now. And fuck the right for trying to take away people's rights to live and pursue happiness. This is not a "both sides" issue by any stretch.
