Do you think a community like r/TrueChristian or r/AskAChristian would be welcome on lemmy.world?
I don't know any true Christians who are MAGA or racists or even bigots. But with the commonly used definition that if someone says something is bad they automatically are seen as hating the people doing it many people arguing in communities like that would be called haters or bigots and possibly be banned here on lemmy.world. Even though most true Christians don't like MAGA and hardline rights they might feel the need to create communities like r/TrueChristian oad r/AskAChristian on exploding-heads.com or similar servers because they might think that their opinions are tolerated there. What do you think?

I'd say, replace Christian with any religion and ask if you'd like to see it...
When there is one you wouldn't like to see, like Muslim, Satanism, Wicca, Athism,... I'd take that as answer.
I'm of the opinion everything that's legal should be possible. That's the whole idea of free speech, that goes for everybody, no matter how much you disagree with them.

Personally, I think any religion should be able to practice their beliefs. In their own communities. The trouble is that most Abrahmic based religions are evangelical and feel it's their mission to judge everyone, loudly and repeatedly, by their beliefs both in and out of their communities because to them, their religion is literally the sole truth and they don't understand the ill feeling that generates amongst people who don't need a god to tell them to be decent people.
On the other hand, with more then 1 religion stating that 'all others go to hell when not believing in our god', you're going to have a lot of people. ;) But your right, that's my biggest objection about the middle east trilogy based religions, 'our religion is the only real one and we'll kill everybody that doesn't agree'. I'm glad that kill is replaced by convert for most but the extremist. Alas all extremist, either christian, muslim or jew, still seem to be very compelled to enforce their views to the rest of the world, with support of weapons.
I'm more of the 'live and let live' approach as well, which goes for all creatures. (ok, most, I still like some meat from time to time)
Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. People should accept that others have other points of view that are also valid.
Exactly. Everyone should be free to worship their god, if they have one, in their homes and in their places of worship. But it should never go beyond that or you're basically trying to enforce your beliefs on everyone else.
I don’t think that is fair. Some religions are notoriously un-accepting of certain groups and spread hatred towards them. I don’t think they deserve to be treated with the same respect when they have been incapable of doing it themselves.
Also, “everything that is legal should be possible?” Are you serious? Being legal does not always mean right or just. Slavery is a classic example of why that statement is wrong.
You might wann read again what the Bible has tk say about slavery, before using that as an argument.
All religions are formed on some form of ingroup outgroup thinking and bigotry. Most holy texts are full of vile crap that no one should ever live by. The main difference these days is, how exactly most believers follow their texts. Most pick and choose and either ignore or try to somehow explain why the parts they don’t like are to be discarded (Usually comes down to some „You have to consider the context“ bs…)
My argument about slavery was in response to the comment that all things legal should be accepted. I disagree with that and slavery is a perfect example of why. It had nothing to do with the Bible or religion.
As for the Bible I have read it, three times front to back in my life. That is probably 3 times more than the majority of Christians. My statement was not specifically aimed at Christians but I believe it is telling that you jumped to that conclusion. Any religion, that holds views of hatred towards others, should not expect to be accepted by everyone else when they can’t do the same.
