We have some bad news. I've had to rollback to the the 9th.
We are running out of disk space and I tried all kind of things to free up space, and they all are not working. The best I can do is remove certain communities and try and prune when I can, but I don't know what to do at this point.
The only way is to I guess upgrade space, but I don't know how long that will last. I'd like some thoughts about it, I guess.
No offense, but it's not very active here. I don't think anyone is going to take it personally if you have to pull the plug.
The two largest communities can be recreated on a larger server(if they don't exist already).
That's up to you chief, no judgement here.
yeah...I didn't realize the software wasn't mature enough to not have purging tools for stuff like this. I've been not responding because I like having a little thing like this, but didn't realize it would guzzle up space like that.
Sorry! I really didn't mean for that to come off as rude as it sounded. I just meant, worst case scenario, if the server ends being a massive pain to manage/fund then you shouldn't feel obligated to keep it up. I wonder if the lemmy community has something similar to the mastodon admin discord group where you could maybe compare notes with other admins about storage/config issues.
They do in a way, there is an admin matrix room. But I guess they would be to say in small works...uh....non-less techy friendly? I can figure out a lot but all my searches of the matrix has just been "hey how to I get csam off my server" "idk, grep the database and delete some of those images, idk the query, we just don't have tools for it SHRUG"
