You need to set your expectations correctly. She is one member of congress that has to work with everyone else in order to do anything. You can't just go in and demand everything you want without compromise. It's literally how democracy works.
AOC is just a representative, and one whose lone vote has never been a tie breaker on any issue. So if you're looking for a legislative win that's a silly bar.
What she HAS done is to become a nationwide voice for actual liberal policies, which has shifted the Overton Window about what is legitimately possible to accomplish.
When AOC is demanding all student loans be erased, it pulls Joe Biden to the left, and makes any loan forgiveness he offers looks moderate and balanced. It gives him political cover to help people.
Her only real power is her soapbox, and she's using it extremely well. That's why the right-wingers hate her.
I'm not going to watch that 30 minute video, so I'm not sure what the critiques are. I'm GUESSING it's the usual left-wing complaint that at the end of the day AOC still toes the party line and votes for bills that are extremely unsavory compromises for us lefties. To that, I say: grow up. If we ever want left wing policies, were going to the old dog Democrats to help.
Also if we ever want AOC to be president, which I certainly do, she'll need the full support of the party if she wins the primary.
If she looks just as uncooperative as Joe Manchin, she'd just make enemies.
Also, allowing Biden to get his agenda through was really the only way to even have a prayer of having him beat Trump during this rematch.
My God I don't think she's capable of rational thought. I thought the tides were against her when she was booed in NYC for proposing to allow more illegal immigrants and lawlessness, but her support here now worries me.
I don't know what you're talking about. She's one of the quickest wits in politics. Reddit has an entire subreddit dedicated to her absolutely destroying people on Twitter (r/murderedbyAOC). Also her academic credentials are terrific. She's incredibly smart.
I don't agree with her on every policy, but she's clearly brilliant.
