I’m messing around with 6 star Tera raids in Violet and I’m wondering what the best EV spreads are for raiders. I know for most attackers you commonly want 252 sp/atk and 252 speed, but is it worth it to focus more on bulk than speed for the raids? Speed is definitely still a factor, but I’m curious what people think. I’ve been doing 252 sp/atk and 252 HP with 4 sp/def but I’m not even sure if that’s the best way to do it. Like maybe splitting more into sp/def is better than HP.

I’ve never been one to calculate damage and such, so I’m kinda looking for advice on where HP is better or worse than defenses. Or if abandoning speed on raiders is even a good idea. It’s probably case by case depending on the raider and the raid, but I’m looking for generalizations.

Specifically, I’m looking to EV train the 7 star mons that I’ve captured and I’m trying to decide if I just do the normal attack and speed route or not. Any advice or opinions are appreciated.

I'm looking for good ideas for teams. I'm trying to avoid using seemingly random Pokémon and want to use a theme or style. I'm thinking of weather or trick room teams but when I tried looking them up I get articles that don't go in depth or are just about how to make a team. YouTube was worse with a lot of videos in how to make a team. I'm probably looking it up wrong but any help would be great.

I was hoping for something new, like a new pmd or Legends, or another new spinoff entirely, but we got literally nothing new. We got detective Pikachu release date, a couple events for the mobile games, and dlc we already knew about. The applin and duraludon evos are great, don't get me wrong, but I really wanted something new, ya know?

Sorry if I'm a bit of a downer, just wanted to see what others were thinking.

Preferably excluding legendaries, as it obviously very easy to make a good team out of them. A team I built for lower-levels Pokemon Stadium that did pretty well (got me a cup) was something like: Raichu Dratini Arcanine Gyarados Mankey I'm struggling to remember the last member, grass or even Butterfree, but there were multiple rounds so I may have switched. I recall one difficulty was the threat of both earthquake (which half the grasses are vulnerable to) and rock slide from grounds so at one point I experimented with Lapras to supplement Gyarados. No lie I love Butterfree.

I love the alt art! You'd need some strategy to pay this card well!

The next 7 Star Tera Raid Battle event has been announced for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This event will feature a battle against a Rillaboom with the Normal Tera Type and the Mightiest Mark. It can only be caught once per save file. This event will run from 00:00 UTC on July 28th through 23:59 UTC on July 30th and repeat August 4th through 6th.

Just had a couple of unusually good games in the sense of team mates that actually worked together, all rotated to objectives, someone actually played support (I played defender), didn't act toxic, etc.

It's not an especially well moderated or managed MOBA, but they recently did a balance patch that made it a tiny bit less infuriating. They have an unfortunate tendency to have periods with one broken mon curbstomping everyone else - even though the pay to win period is usually short, it's still extremely annoying.

The basic strategy is two go up top, two bottom, one middle, farm, rotate down to to take the bottom boss when the 30 second timer appears, rotate up to take top boss, then if able score and go back to defend goals. Toward the end of the game, Rayquaza or Zapdos appears. Failure to take the birbdragon usually but not always means defeat.

It can be a lot of fun, the pokemon have so much personality and I got attached to mons I never cared about before, but it has some severe flaws at times. I've climbed to Masters several times but I'm pretty sure literal toddlers are in Masters.

What is the balance reason for some abilities to ignore type effectiveness while others don't.

It always puzzled me that static can paralyze ground (usually immune to electric moves) types while steel types retain immunity to poison point.

I'm not a competitive battler or anything but would appreciate more exposure to the subject. Might be good to get a competitive side thread or something for those interested? :D
