  • 100% private and on-device Lemmy "For You" feed - Quiblr

    Hi all,

Quiblr now has personalized post feeds for Lemmy!

I haven't seen a "recommended feed" feature anywhere else in the fediverse but I thought I would take a crack at building it!

My goal was to make a privacy-focused recommendation engine that tailors your experience based on the content you interact with. None of the data leaves your device. You don't even need to log in for it to work

    • You can turn it off or tune your feed in the settings
    • Each post now also includes a show me more/less button

I would LOVE feedback from folks if you get a chance to try it out!

This was really fun to build so let me know if there are any questions!

    Hi all,

New update for Quiblr! You can now upload photos without needing to leave Quiblr (no more Imgur!). You can also use your camera to take a photo for a post if on mobile!

Let me know what you think

Edit: As a reminder, please subscribe to the Quiblr community as I will stop adding app updates on this old Phantom community. Thanks!

  • Quiblr for Lemmy app March 7 2024: 0.19 Support, hide duplicate posts, and Post Activity Score!

The Quiblr web app has some exciting updates! See below:

    • Version Update: Support for Lemmy version 0.19
    • Hide Duplicates: New setting to (attempt to) hide duplicate posts; this setting checks if a post has the same title and creator and only keeps the first post in the feed
    • OP Post View: A few new features for creators - edit/delete posts + see a Post Activity Score; this was something I made to give the OP a snapshot of their post's velocity (I added a page outlining the algorithm but it essentially measures activity based on the votes, comments, and post age).

Let me know if anyone has feedback!

Also, if you haven't already, please go subscribe to the Quiblr community (I couldn't rename the Phantom community). At some point I'd like to not keep posting in 2 communities lol

  • Phantom App Update: November 1 2023

Hi all, below is an update of the latest changes for Phantom!

    2 changes:

    • Timezones: Fixed issue with time since post was created. Was seeing some funky experience for users in different timezone.
    • Cache: Added a "Clear Cache" button in the settings. To maintain user privacy, items (such as the list of recently viewed communities) is kept in the cache rather than saving to a database. Given that cache is used, I wanted to add a "clear cache" button to let users reset back to the default settings. This can also come in handy if the cache ever misbehaves!

Let me know if anyone has any feedback!
