Evilspeak (1981)
This early-80s also-ran horror flick has it all: A possessed computer. Bullying. Spaniards. A boys' military academy. Satanic black mass. A dispute over a crowbar. A nude woman devoured by pigs. Revenge decapitation. Latin. A wildly inappropriate bikini contest featuring female teachers with their students in attendance. A basement full of corpses. Levitation. What more could you want?
Keep an eye out for Charles Tyner (Uncle Victor from Harold and Maude, playing essentially the same character) and Richard Moll (Bull from Night Court).

A better-than-expected, little-known B horror flick that manages to transcend its very limited budget. Four misfit high schoolers decide to terrorize a teacher for no good reason and get more than they bargained for.
It's not \good\, and there are some very silly parts, but it's much, much better than you'd expect.

- faroutmagazine.co.uk 'Hell Comes to Frogtown': the ultimate B-movie bonanza
'Hell Comes to Frogtown' feels like it was precision-engineered for cult status, which is exactly what it achieved. Read more about it here.
cross-posted from: https://feddit.uk/post/14527783
> > Certain movies feel predestined to become cult classics, whether through the sum of their creative parts, the outlandishness of their conceits, or a combination of both. Hell Comes to Frogtown firmly ticks each box, and the end result is unashamedly glorious trash. > > > >Directed by schlock merchant Donald G. Jackson – who boasts The Demon Lover, Kill, Kill Overkill, Rollergator, and Guns of El Chupacabra in his filmography – the screenplay was co-written by James Cameron regular Randall Frakes, who’d work with the box office conqueror on Xenogenesis, Battle Beyond the Stars, Aliens, and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. > > > > Arriving in a banner year for its leading man, Hell Comes to Frogtown landed months before John Carpenter’s They Live, although it remains entirely up for debate as to whether Sam Hell or John Nada wins the award for ‘Best-Named Character Played by Roddy Piper in 1988’. > > > >Throw in Golden Globe-winning Conan the Barbarian and Razzie-nominated Red Sonja star Sandahl Bergman, an endearingly threadbare budget, and the unbridled nonsense of a post-apocalyptic world infested by sterile humans, mutant amphibians, and government-sponsored codpieces, the end result was never going to be anything less than anarchic nonsense.

Starman: Evil Brain From Outer Space
Starman: Evil Brain From Outer Space
A schlock sci-fi B movie made by editing together a few of the Shintoho "Super Giant" films. The original films were released in 1958 and '59, but this didn't reach the US (with English dubbing) until 1966.

DEATH PROMISE (1977)
YouTube Video
"A warning to the rich: Get Off Our Backs!"
Also released in the US as "Slumfighter" which is a far superior title, but I guess they wanted people to think of "Death Wish." Basically there are there good honest people living in this tenement who are being oppressed by The Man, "but they can only take so much before they are forced to fight!" If nothing else, check out the original trailer, which is gold from beginning to end:
- https://invidious.materialio.us/watch?v=wDVmhGqx_mA
You'll note a universally low production quality, and even the fight choreography is poorly done. But the actors have some real physical skills, so you'll frequently see a decent leap, spin, or jump-kick. With a bit more money this could have reached "Bloodsport" levels. And the main theme is truly funky.
Summary: entertaining, if your expectations are as low as a landlord... That's a Promise!
