Is there a business in your town, which you are 100% sure is a front?
  • I have a shop near where I live in the middle of a suburb that only sells fans (the wind blowing kind) and they are a DHL pickup point, everytime I am there there is nobody there. The fans are stacked in boxes up to the ceiling and the quantity of them never changes, been that way for over a year now.

There is also always a shady ass person behind the counter, and often a few shady persons in the "back" of the store.

Since they only sell fans they should've called their store OnlyFans come to think about it .

  • I hate it when people see a $100+ price-tag for a lifetime subscription and complain. A OTP is literally a user that cannot be charged again, and if lemmy keeps growing, it will provide value for many years.

I used sync pro for almost 10 years and paid something like $5 for it, such pricing is unsustainable for the developer and I totally understand the subscription model

Dude has the best app for lemmy and provides a good boost to the ecosystem which benefits all. Development time costs (a lot) of money and the dev has every right to charge what he wants.

  • I originally paid $5 or something for sync pro in 2014. That worked out to be almost 9 years of daily use for me and was way too cheap for the utility that was provided.

Lifetime subscriptions for $5 are not really sustainable for the developer, eventually the pool of new users dries up. I think 17$ a year is very reasonable, if not cheap (for users in western countries).
