It's official: Smartphones will need to have replaceable batteries by 2027
  • I mean this could happen in Europe, but I suspect something as integral to design/engineering might have Apple wanting to go ahead and split the designs between Europe and other markets. They just love control too much I think to go big in on this feature everywhere.

  • iPad Pros With 11-Inch and 13-Inch OLED Displays Expected to Enter Mass Production Early Next Year
  • I’m still rocking a first gen 11” iPad Pro and the battery is definitely showing it’s age. There hasn’t been a meaningful improvement since it launched so I’m looking forward to this update. Who else is rocking a 4+ year old iPad? I feel like the average lifespan for most peoples iPads seem to be pushing 5 years which is crazy good.

  • What's the point of buying new phones every years?
  • I had my iPhone X for 3 years and would have kept my 12 Pro for 3 years, but the 14 Pros came in purple and I decided to go for it. I fully intend on keeping my 14 Pro for at least 3 years. Maybe even go 4 this time around and just get the battery replaced at the end of year 2. I don’t game on my phone at all, I have lots of other devices for that, so I don’t need the latest and greatest every year.

  • Does anyone regret deleting their Reddit account?
  • Nope, no regrets here. Don’t miss it, I wasn’t very active. Used Apollo from day one pretty much, was an Ultra user. Just can’t stand the site or app, the advertising is just too invasive. Trying out Lemmy for the first time tonight, seems like a more intimate community which is more likely to make engage as opposed to lurk.
