  • Does western Lake Mac count as being from Newy? I wasn't getting the loud bang in Mayfield reference but a google search led me to the reddit post, which led to the realisation that despite being on reddit for 10 years I had not subbed to /r/newcastle.

    • Sure! I used to get some loud bangs around the peninsula growing up near Morisset too - maybe if you listen carefully you'll hear one too!

      • I've lived in western Lake Mac for years and we get maybe one or two loud bangs every other month. They normally happen late at night during school holidays, so I generally assume some kids have found something to blow up.

        • Have you left Reddit behind? Just realised you said you were on there for about 10 years.

I recently deleted my account, I never posted or commented much over there though, so I wasn't attached to the account.

          • I probably won't leave reddit for a while, and like you I don't post or comment much. I work in IT and I find it's often quicker to check r/sysadmin for any outages or known problems issues rather than rely on Microsoft or other vendors.

But with 3rd party app support going away I'll use Reddit even less. I have been using RIF for years on both phone and tablet. I've tried the official app and it's garbage and I also tried via web browser from my tablet and it was not good.
