What's the best way these days to install multiple copies of a messaging app?

Long time ago I'd use a third party app for that, but I don't really trust them enough for that now. The closest solution I found was to use the work profile with Shelter, would that be the way to go?

In my case the app is Facebook Messenger & phone is Pixel 6.

I think Samsung devices also had a built in way to do this

  • Shelter can give you one extra copy. Not sure about more than that.

    • Yea this works pretty well, but it gets a little annoying trying to send a photo because the storage is separate

Still possible but just a couple of extra steps every time

      • Really? I can share photos from work to personal. I don't know what I did.

        • Oh really

For me if I want to take a photo and then share it, I need to go into my gallery, find the photo, and then go through the share menu options to find the work app

I haven't tried the other way though

          • go into my gallery, find the photo, and then go through the share menu options to find the work app

That's what I do as well. I guess that's my default workflow. :D

            • Looks like that's what I'll do too, shouldn't be too bad until android 14 drops
