What's a book you've read that exceeded your expectations?
I wasn't expecting to like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid but I found it to be a rare case where the hype was deserved. I went into Stoner by John Williams completely blind and it's one of my all time favorite books.
Do you have a book that surprised you by being so much better than you expected?
Since We Fell by Dennis Lehane.
was recommended on the radio, i had never heard of the author and it was not the genre i typically read. I wouldn't say it's one of my favorite books. but I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
This won’t be that original but Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. Got it as a gift but once I started flipping through it couldn’t put it down. Starting a big reading binge on mountaineering and survivalism.
