for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?

For me it feels like breaking up with someone after many years. At the same time, I feel a bit dirty mentioning the name in the post title.

  • Sad to see what’s happened with Reddit but actually excited to try something new here.

It may take off, it may not but I haven’t been involved in something new online in a long while as most of the main online spaces are pretty much entrenched with the few big players.

The thing I’ve found most odd is now that I’ve uninstalled BaconReader, is the way I instinctively went to where the icon used to live on my Home Screen, such a weird feeling.

Was I doing it out of pure habit or was a little addicted? Cutting it off like this is making me think I just went on BaconReader/Reddit without actually wanting to… Worrying when I think about it.

I’ll see if that behaviour sorts itself out now it’s gone.

    • I had the same experience, and I've had Baconreader premium for many years. I had developed a habit of constantly reloading it in an endless search for new content. I'm interested in trying new things though, both this and Mastadon.
