You can subscribe to youtube channels with rss, that way you don't have to log in a d you have a chronological list of uploads of channels you've chosen.
I found freetube helpful. You can subscribe to Channels directly in freetube. I am a bit unsure if it stops the algorythm completely.
Yeah, I thought of getting into grayjay instead, but the android app seems very unstable and slow for me, maybe I'll try tweaking ReVanced for a similar result instead.
You could just hide the home tab and default to the subscriptions. And I think you can also hide recomendations but Im not sure about that.
