I fucking hated the Tom Bombadil character, he's an insufferable annoying twat with all his bullshit singing, I'm so happy he wasn't in the movies.

I forgot how dour this show is. If feels like there is never any levity but when there is it is so poorly contrived. What a slog. I haven't even got to Bombadil yet. I don't know if I can go on. I need Sam.
