i loved the live bus tracking feature on Google Maps, but in the past months it's no longer been showing them so I more or less have to wait blindly.
Today I downloaded the moovit app and found out that it's charging people for the live tracking, so my guess is that moovit are the owners of the live bus data and decided to privatize it for their own app. Makes sense if they wanna make a profit, but a huge bummer since the data should have been provided by the govt in the first place.
I think what happened was RapidKL stopped providing these data to platforms like Google, and channeled them to their own app. Moovit relies on user-generated data if the transport company don't provide them publicly.
