US infrastructure firm to buy bus and train giant Arriva

German owner Deutsche Bahn secured the sale, understood to be worth around 1.6 billion euros (£1.4 billion), after lengthy talks.

Just what we need: a US private equity firm controlling a large segment of UK public transport.

Because as we know, Americans are awesome at public transport.
