A lifetime subscription to chess lessons with a chess grandmaster for my kids? Absolutely. My daughters already high rating has been skyrocketing and my son's rating has become astronomical these past couple of months. But we pay nearly a thousand bucks a month for the both of them. It's become my second largest monthly expense, right behind my mortgage, and I don't know how much longer my wife and I can afford to keep this up.
But, as much time and effort as my kids have invested in chess of their own accord, I feel that this is far more than simply worth it, even if I do have to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at work, among other sacrifices, to afford it.
