In Paris, a police car and a bank were attacked by a group of people during protests against police brutality. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin described the incident as "unacceptable violence."
One single bank and one single car got a broken window each, nobody got injured; that was a super chill non-violent protest. Back during the yellow jackets days cops mutilated by the dozen, that was violent. Earlier this year they mutilated again during the retirement reform protests, that was also violent. This summer they sent counterterrorism out to shoot at kids with 12 gauges shotguns when they revolted after cops killed two of them during traffic stops in two weeks, that was violent. Today was not, because the cops got ordered not to spill blood this time.
The degree of violence in a protest is always set by the cops and the government who gives the orders, always.
