The EO is literally just reaffirming the constitution, that the executive branch is under the president.
I don't know if you can read, but saying that all independent regulatory agencies, even those approved by congress, are now magically fully controlled by the president, without restriction, doesn't exactly uphold the constitution, nor does it uphold our existing laws regarding how these agencies are approved/confirmed, funded, and operated.
Can you cite the part of the constitution that states the executive branch has control over all interpretation of laws and functioning of agencies independently authorized by congress?
“(b) “Agency,” unless otherwise indicated, means any authority of the United States that is an “agency” under 44 U.S.C. 3502(1), and shall also include the Federal Election Commission.
The Federal Election Commission was not under Presidential rule prior to their executive order. It would be ridiculous for an elected position to control the election commission for obvious reasons of election tampering potential.
This might seem to be a reaffirmation of the constitution at a passing glance, but most certainly is more sinister if you dig into the statues and governmental overseeing bodies being affected by this claim.
He knows he has to say that or you will eviscerate him. Conservatives lie about their true feelings when they think it will negatively impact them. They have no courage.
I've all but given up on bridging the divide, but something in me wants to find one "conservative" person who is sane and honest but just somehow honestly has a huge blind spot
Doge is the biggest one. Doge is finding a lot of government waste. Sure, it's being a little quick at times, but I'd honestly prefer that approach versus nothing ever getting done which is what's been happening for decades now.
im not angry, just bewildered. im just a spectator commenting on your tribalistic behaviour causing you to instantly call me a conservative because i said your commentary is garbage, and quite frankly that's an understatement. i hope you understand that this behaviour is one of the reasons why the democrats lost the election and that partisanism is a construct designed to make you angry and be divided from your neighbours, and you have clearly fallen for it.
To say that most people who are responded to this way are conservatives destroying society is an understatement.
I'm not all that concerned with you holier-than-thou takes here either. If you don't see the problems for what they are, I don't really need to have conversations with you just being smug the whole time.
